This is my first time posting something up on the Nexus! After numerous requests, I have decided to share my ReShade preset for Fallout 4. I wanted to create a dark and gritty world that suits a post apocalyptic wasteland. This preset looks great during the day, but it really shines during cloudy weather and at night. Featuring a custom tuning palette and some sepia, it is rather desaturated and turns the bright reds in the game to wonderful rust tones. I’ve also cut down on the horrid blue cast that permeates everything with the vanilla game. This preset also includes ambient occlusion and depth of field, both of which can be toggled easily with the hit of a key.
This preset costs me about 10fps with both AO and DoF turned on.
Please feel free to add your own images!
Installation –
Place all files into your main Fallout 4 directory (example – “C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\SteamApps\common\Fallout 4”)
Considerations –
The depth of field (DoF) isn’t really meant for actual gameplay. By all means, you can leave it enabled, however menus will look blurry and you may see odd flickering. It can be toggled on/off with the hit of the END key.
The ambient occlusion looks fantastic most of the time. However, there are times when it can lead to odd artifacts when used in conjunction with DoF. In these cases, these features can be toggled on/off independently. AO can be toggled with the hit of the INSERT key.
Updates –
Version 1.1 – corrected DoF to Autofocus by default (previously had it set to Manual focus)
