To familiarize myself with the new texture formats and PBR I made these camouflage retextures of the tactical hunting rifle stock.
I was worried at first after reading some early experiences from Photoshop users, but with Gimp IT JUST WORKS(TM).
Normalmap has been modified to achieve a rough grip texture.
Specularmap has also been modified to give metal parts a more metal like reflection (I just raised PBR’s “metalness” parameter a bit) and to reduce reflection for the grip (lowered PBR’s “roughness” parameter to reduce reflection, sound contraproductive but “roughness” is actually smoothness in Bethesda’s textures). Some may consider my modifications of the specularmap a bit primitive and exaggerated. I agree with them, but hey it’s my first take on PBR.
Installation:
Unzip one of the archives into your Fallout 4 Data folder.
Append “TEXTURES\” to the “sResourceDataDirsFinal” line in your Fallout4.ini file.
