After years of waiting, Bethesda Softworks has officially unveiled Fallout 4, releasing a beautifully crafted announcement trailer made entirely from in-game footage.
This is a fan-pleasing move, as most AAA titles are given computer-generated trailers, unrepresentative of the final product. Bethesda have released the trailer as a precursor to the company’s E3 press conference due June 2015. Fallout 4 is expected to be the key attraction there, beating out competition from Doom 4.
To celebrate the game’s announcement we have taken a few of the best stills from Fallout 4’s announcement trailer (embedded below so you can watch it a second time, or a third, or a fourth, or a fifth, or a…), which shows the title’s post-apocalyptic depiction of a major US city. While the setting is yet to be officially confirmed, landmarks in the trailer strongly suggest that it is Boston.
